I love these moms. Check out the April issue of Essence with great tips on mom balance, leveraging an idea and sister power. Tia and Tamera are simply fab! ‘Brand’ New Moms what do you love about Tia and Tamera?
Reinvention is all about being BOLD and not allowing the FEAR to cripple your moments.
BNM, we have all doubted our blessings and the minute we get the courage to do what we truly love … the light begins to SHINE!
Meet Marsha Page, this week’s MOMMY REINVENTED sharing her fabulous CONFIDENCE Tips as it relates to makeup:
Number two pencils? Check. Loose-leaf notebook paper? Check. Snazzy backpack? For shizzle. Cell phone? PAUSE.
As a mother of three school age children (three others still in diapers) I knew I would be buried under a mountain of back to school supply lists, uniforms and last minute summer reading reviews but nothing prepared me for the two hour plea from my eleven year old to buy him, dare I say it, a cell phone?.
I have already been deemed the “dino” of the house as I was not on board with the purchase of his game console nor the portable version of it purchased just a year later so it was no surprise to my son that my answer was no. I could not understand.
Why would you need such a thing?
Your lifestyle consists of going to school or being within earshot of me or your father. When would you need it? Regardless of the answer to that question, my answer is still no. As I watched the face get longer and the eyes well up, the whole scene conjured up a vision from the “Parents Just Don’t Understand“ video where Will Smith’s pretend mom shakes her finger rapping” You go to school to learn, not for a fashion show.” My flashback almost had me feeling his pain until he commits the ultimate begging child faux pas,” Everybody else has one mom!”
She is tall, statuesque, beautiful, 45, married for 17 years with a couple of grown kids (respectively 22, 31) and now embracing motherhood a second time around to Leila, almost 4 years old.

I am enjoying each day of this hot, steamy, egg frying weather. How about you?
Thank you for all the feedback for the “Hot List” … keep it coming.
Here is what I am loving this week…
1) Mom/Girlfriends getting together for some much needed jokes, grub and stories. Plan a day to get together with your girlfriends.
2) Summer Love and extended date night … need I say more.
3) Nail power with soft bright pastels. Yum!!
4) Yoga. I can’t get over the changes in my body; sign up for a class and listen to what this brand new mommy says about how her body has changed in 8 months with yoga.
5) Mommy Juice!
“Time vampires” are those seemingly harmless pastimes that end up sucking the life and time right out of your day. You sit down to read a few industry blogs and the next time you look up, your daughter has left for college and your son is shaving.
Not only will these black holes of time cause you stress because you’re wasting time, you will also be kicking yourself in the rear end because you’ll be filled with regrets. You’ll be wondering how you could have been so stupid to sit at the computer, reading about urban legends for the past three hours. Continue reading
All I can say is that a picture always tells the story. How beautiful!
As a mom – I always strive to be honest, patient, loving, fun, spontaneous, inspiring, real and together. Well, let’s face it – 2 out of 3 most days ain’t bad!
Here is Jada Pinkett Smith along with her daughter and mom talking real about life, love, fame and family. This is truly an authentic dialogue showcasing the challenges of motherhood with or without money, fame and power.

I know that I need to be better with my face — more facials, longer sleep, better products and more time. What is a mom to do? — simply do better.
