Marriage Vows: Through Sickness and Wellness

Loving hands of Donna and Joseph McElroy

Your Health Mate…Having a Partner to Help You in Getting Healthy
Guest Post by Donna McElroy

Sometimes an unexpected diagnosis or a questionable test result may lead one to question their choice of doctor, or even health insurance provider for that matter.

So many of the illnesses we hear of that are affecting our loved ones are chronic conditions that are likely manageable, with strict adherence to a prescribed drug regiment, but not curable; or require additional testing, as well as potentially significant financial commitments and time to meet with additional health professionals. This type of news makes it very easy for anyone to become completely overwhelmed just thinking of the possibilities and outcomes, as well as totally stressed out with trying to understand how to get better while maintaining a lifestyle that isn’t upset too much by this new challenge. Are You A ‘Brand’ New Mommy? Take the Test

Happy Friday!!

It’s always important to remember what motivated the fire and measure how ya doing?

Who Is The ‘Brand’ New MommyTM

She is every hue of the rainbow and represents the quintessential woman, age ranging from 30-50, and learning each day to find balance as she ‘re-define’ mommy-hood on her terms and ‘re-new’ her career goals (or launch a new passion).

The ‘Brand’ New Mommy is complex, smart, beautiful, and multi-talented, and, appreciates the simplicity of life (and a splice of the fabulous vida).

The ‘Brand’ New Mommy was once on top of her game pre-babies – now the industry has changed, she has taken time off to raise her children, and learn social media — the new “it” girl.  TBNM is coming back stronger, smarter and sensible.

TBNM has to learn the new rules while creating new ones to make her life easier, sustainable and profitable. Continue reading

Supermom Is Dead … Kindred The Family Soul

Kindred The Family Soul ... Six Deep

Here’s the scenario.

The phone rings. I answer on speakerphone because one of the twins have removed the battery from the handset and lost it. On the other end is Karen Taylor Bass (my former publicist and “brand” new mommy) asking me to write what I am feeling right now for her blog.

So here goes.

Most people know I’ve got six children and my husband and I have built a successful career in the music industry as – Kindred The Family Soul. It’s fair to say I am a blog waiting to happen.

I often find myself walking the tight rope between two worlds of women: work and stay at home mamas. Both ladies have different philosophies and (might) compete with one another (why I don’t know) for some reason or another. Continue reading

Did You Bring Your Sexy Back (Yet)?

Get Your Sexy Back

BNM,

My husband tells me I have two types of lingerie … winter flannel and summer flannel.

You mean the matching cotton cami-sets are not sexy?

I want to be sexy first for me and then my husband, however, when he played me and told me about my under garment I decided to take a trip to Agent Provocateur (Victoria Secret can’t control my babies) and get with the sexy.

Although we are moms our underwear should scream “take me,” not “can you make me a “grilled cheese sandwich?!” Right?

How are your sexy garments, are they screaming or whispering? Let a momma know.
