Dancing with Baby is Big Business: Meet Sabrina LaBow

Sabrina LaBow

Necessity is really the mother of invention.

Meet ‘brand’ new mommy Sabrina LaBow, an older mom, formerly the General Manager at the legendary Laugh Factory, who created a way to soothe her baby and countless others along the way with dancing.

Sabrina is the creator of Sling and Dance.

Sling and Dance is a unique new class that gives moms a chance to bond with their little ones, get back in shape, and learn some slick new moves with the help of a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor.

Classes are for moms/caregivers and their babies. Babies welcome with a sling or any type of carrier. The class is 45 minutes. No dance experience necessary. Classes are designed to be fun, both for caregivers and babies.

Hit or Ms.: Do We Really Need to Have Respect for Adults?

How important is teaching RESPECT?

Good Morning!

Here is a post I penned for Madamenoire.com on manners/respect and the comments have been off the chain. Let me know your thoughts and have a great weekend.

Just like Janet Jackson, please call me Ms. Karen or Mrs. Taylor-Bass, but certainly not Karen. We don’t roll like that if you are a child and under 25.

Is there something in the water or have children become too familiar with grown folks–thinking it’s okay to call us by the first name? Stop the madness; can a momma get a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T?
Respect is the notion of understanding that a high or special regard should be deferred to someone older. There are times when I feel that some kids are simply BeBe Kids dressed in nice gear with no manners.

Marvin Gaye

Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite

Happy Sexy Day, BNM!

I empower you to make today your sexy day of celebration and self-love.

Yes, we celebrate relationships, however, the best relationships are the one’s with self.

Once upon a time as a single woman, I would get dressed up and take myself to an amazing restaurant, order a delish dish and drink the best Australian wine on the menu – why? I am worth it!

The best way to get the love you crave is to put on display how much you value you and make no apologies. Happy Valentine’s Day!

So, pump up your favorite sexy tune and spray that perfume in all the right places, eat chocolate and enjoy your self-love day!

Is Go-Go Juice Really Bad for You?

ABC News - Go-Go Juice?

Moms are always on the go – juggling a balancing act with schedules, career, family, friends, organization and self.

Maybe, moms need a bit of Go-Go juice to keep them going all day like Alana Thompson from ‘Toddlers and Tiaras.’

Go-Go juice is the Pageant crack liquid solution comprised of 50% Mountain Dew and 50% Red Bull. This is pure caffeine providing an instant rush for all the little ones who have busy all day schedules with competition, taping a reality show and maintaining a normal life for a toddler. Wow, talk about parents living (dangerously) through their children?

This got me thinking, what would the Go-Go juice of choice be for busy moms?

My Go-Go juice is usually a homemade protein smoothie with a dash of Hershey pure cocoa, which gives me a great boost of energy and no side effects.

BNM, what is your Go-Go juice?

Before you Make Another Purchase, Read This: All Debt Is Not Created Equal

Author: Lynnette Khalfani Cox, themoneycoach, TBNM contributor

Debt is a massive problem in America. We’re up to our eyeballs in debt of all types: mortgage loans, credit card debt, student loans, automobile loans, and more.

Even though home values have plummeted, the average mortgage balance in the U.S. is nearly $200,000; the typical family carries a monthly credit-card balance of $10,000; the average college graduate owes more than $20,000 in student loans; and the median car note now exceeds $27,000. Is it any wonder that Americans owe $2.4 trillion in consumer debt, excluding their mortgages? Throw in another $14 trillion or so in home loans, and it’s clear why our collective debt won’t go away any time soon.

From a credit standpoint please understand that the type of debt you’re carrying matters tremendously when it comes to your overall rating. (See the FICO credit score formula). Continue reading
