I read a crazy message that she was kidnapped yesterday — this was simply a rumor.

Once again, there seems to be something in the water at the Jackson compound.

Glad to hear that Ms. Jackson is resting and okay.

Losing a Leader, Grief on Grown Woman Time … By Cynthia Levy Mendoza

Just two months ago Karen detailed to us the beauty of her grandmother Lurlene, and the Alzheimer illness that plaguing her matriarch’s life.

I never thought on the heels of Christmas I would find myself in a similar situation.  The matriarch of my family, my great aunt Ollie has been struck with cancer and may be on the losing end, God willing there is a miracle to be found.  I’ve been left with an overwhelming feeling of grief and anxiousness because we are losing the leader of our family.

The silver-haired woman who holds dear the ancestry of our family, who encourages, who quotes scripture like it’s written on her tongue, maybe headed home to glory.  Lately, I have been battling with a question I’m sure others are familiar with, “What do I do next?”

Whether you’re losing your closest friend or mentor on the job to a new opportunity, your moving out of town away from your mother or losing your grandmother; what do you do when your life guide is gone?
