I recently had the opportunity to spend time with the lovely Kelly Price.

All I can say … fabulous and well deserving of all the accolades and success, she is a sweetie and real savvy business woman.

Kelly talked about how she had to reinvent and renew her brand to win by moving to Los Angeles; reigniting the passion in her marriage; preparing for a new (life) with kids off at college; and, taking ownership of her career by being an advocate for self. Go Kelly!

Thank you for making me #1, I appreciate your trust, love, and spirit.

It’s been a mere seven months since I made my foray into vlogging and almost a year since I started blogging.

Let me just say I’m learning each day as a newbie and elated that you have allowed me to simply be … and learn from my mistakes.

This afternoon, the producer of my web-series ‘Brand New You,’ on Black Enterprise.com called me gushing with great news – my show is #1 and averaging 177K views on the site. Yeah!!!

A special thank you and shout out to Kelly Price (mom, entrepreneur and wife) for taking me to #1 with her honesty and candor as it relates to body image in an image driven industry.

50 Cent Makes A Penny Comment

In the world of social media negativity another celebrity has shown an ugly side.

Perhaps, you’ve read how 50 made an unnecessary comment about Jill Scott’s recent weight loss and compared her to a lousy station wagon.

Trust me when I say it’s challenging to lose weight and Jill is looking pretty fabulous these days as a woman renewing and redefining her personal brand.

The bigger question truly is the images of beauty which society has perpetuated for years: skinny/emaciated versus healthy-looking (the average American woman is a size 10). As you watch videos or the big screen it’s rare to see a curvaceous woman being celebrated by a lead male singer or actor. And you ask why our girls have issues as it relates to beauty?
