My Babysitter has a Starring Role in my Re-Invention

Babysitters are live saviours ... celebrate them!!

As we prepare to salute the fabulous women and role models in our sphere for Mother’s Day — let’s not forget to pamper and thank the babysitter.

My trusted part-time babysitter, savior, and, surrogate mom to my babies is under the weather due to a female problem for a few weeks or more.

Let me tell you that I rely on her showing up for work so that I can work, maintain balance, breathe, be a better mom/wife/friend, and continue to reinvent and renew my brand post childbirth. Continue reading

Maximize 2.5 Hours while Reinventing a ‘Brand’ New You!

Catch me on NBC10!- Philadelphia today at 11:30AM EST!

No matter how you justify the expense, babysitting and day school is darn expensive for the preschoolers.

My little one (4 years), has been in a private day school since she was 17 months and this past September, we decided to take advantage of the free pre-Kindergarten in our district to save some MONEY.

Just like you, the Bass family, had to make some hard-line budgetary decisions and the verdict was send her to the FREE Pre-K in our district (which is quite good and ranks in the 90th percentile) to get some breathing room.

The only problem is FREE means FLEXIBILITY – the program is 2.5 hours of instructional learning and this ‘brand’ new momma has had to adjust to a new schedule of ‘making it work’ for all. Continue reading

The Brand New Mommy Gone Mad

Wolverine Costume

Mommies,

How are you?

Aren’t we elated the kids are back at school?

Another day and I would’ve personally unlocked the doors to the schoolyard and placed my 10 year old there with a note – Brand New Mommy Gone Mad.

I love my kids, but, after camp, library visits, play dates, family vacation, arts and crafts, and NO babysitter … this BNM was tapped out of ideas and kinda pissed my reinvention was on the slow train.

Then to add insult to injury … my husband has been sick over 10 days now. Can you say Mommy Reload???

Mommies, I know you will understand this – several days ago I suggested to my husband he should go to the doctor for a check-up, get antibiotics – not to mention his coughing sounded like walking pneumonia or bronchitis.

Well, my dear husband, called his mom, and she suggested he take Vicks Formula 44 and get some rest. Needless to say, the cough, and all the other symptoms just exacerbated each day and infected the family. Thanks babe.

It only gets worse.
