Think about your parents and how they did not have it together when you were growing up; however, all the valuable lessons you learned in the process?
Trial and error still rocks!
Recently I read a blog by a popular celebrity-mom talking about how she is able to manage all three of her kids, workout, have dinner prepared at 6pm, schedule date night twice a week and still hang-out with girlfriends for coffee or wine?
Wow, that’s darn impressive!! Most weeks, I order takeout 2x, check homework, kiss my husband and pass out on the couch in my sweats.
Then I did some research and learned that this ‘certain’ celebrity has a “team,” not just a “nanny” to keep her and family together.
It’s all about being authentic and telling people what’s going on truthfully and not feeling compelled to create perfection — it does not exist regardless of your income.
So what if you have not lost all the weight gained during pregnancy and it took Mariah Carey 3 months to lose 30 pounds? She is a paid Jenny Craig spokesperson! If you were getting paid to lose weight you would put down that piece of chicken, I know I would.
It’s time to stop the madness and not use celebrity as the barometer in our lives to measure success. Remember, they are only telling you the “PR” friendly parts of the ‘brand.’
I’ve learned it’s okay to be imperfectly imbalance and not play into what I am supposed to say.
Celebrate your bold and unique style!!

I’ve been imperfect for years and content most of the times. I’m too old to please people.
It feels great to just be.

Yes, being yourself can be exhausting at times … but, it’s your authentic self smiling.
Really nice article. Thank you so much for letting me know that it is ok to just be me, because that perfect women I have been struggling so hard to become does not exist.
