Now Hair This: Getting Comfy with (new) Hair!

I had this hair for over 20 years

Photos for a current project

Let me say that change is not easy — especially when it comes to MY hair since that’s my Achilles heel.

Admission is the first step to recovery!

Recently, I posted a photo on Facebook with me and a client out for drinks and the comments were the following:

Out with Agnes Davis, Swim Swim Swim I Say

Now Hair This!

Honestly, I didn’t recognize self (either) because I’ve yet to push the RESET button in my mind that I’m allowing my hair to grow.

Thanks for the comments – I am bracing all things anew for this season because it feels right. I just bought a flatiron two weeks ago to manipulate my hair straight after a wash, trying all types of products to keep the humidity from my natural roots/stubborn gray.

Any tips to keep the hair healthy and humidity free?

The Benefits of Creating a Calendar For Your Sanity

Make The Holidays Stress Free

Ever since I had accepted the job as a mom, I realized that being prepared before the celebratory events was a stress reliever.  I have created a system based on my own “last minute” frustrations that help me stay prepared before the holidays, birthdays, spring breaks and etc.

We already know that Christmas is on Dec. 25th, Thanksgiving is in November, Spring Break is in March, school starts in September or August for some and we know the dates of our children’s birthday. Preparing for these festivities before they get near, help us as Busy Moms stay sane and sound avoiding the shopping rush, sale anxiety and last minute pickings. Continue reading

BNM: Hot Summer List 2012

Pastels rock in the summer!

Hello Mommas,

I am enjoying each day of this hot, steamy, egg frying weather. How about you?

Thank you for all the feedback for the “Hot List” … keep it coming.

Here is what I am loving this week…

1) Mom/Girlfriends getting together for some much needed jokes, grub and stories. Plan a day to get together with your girlfriends.

2) Summer Love and extended date night … need I say more.

3) Nail power with soft bright pastels. Yum!!

4) Yoga. I can’t get over the changes in my body;  sign up for a class and listen to what this brand new mommy says about how her body has changed in 8 months with yoga.

5) Mommy Juice!

Mommy Juice and Rodney Strong are POWERFUL!

Wanda Skykes Talks: Laundry, Diversity, Motherhood and ‘Gainful’ Employment

Wanda Sykes Talks 'Gain'

Gain Your Perfect Match

Comedian/actress Wanda Sykes is 48, a hot renaissance momma, naturalista and now a spokeswoman for the most fragranced laundry detergent and digital host of the Gain Scent Matchmaker Studio.

Sykes recently joked at a recent Gain interactive event held at the Eventi Hotel in NY that she is now “Gainfully employed.” Yes, she is!

“Nothing cements motherhood and being a woman (more) than laundry. The time you spend doing laundry you might as well smell good and find a scent which matches your personality/style,” laughs Wanda Sykes.

Hardwork, Heart & Humility: The Winning Combination for #MiamiHeat

A King is Crowned!!

Good Friday to all!

I am beyond excited for Lebron James and the Miami Heat for winning the 2012 NBA Champions.

I’ve learned from being a sports enthusiast that sports mirrors our life as it relates to winning, losing, determination and hitting rock bottom.

Last night we witnessed the template to win — hardwork, heart, humility and trusting self, teammates and knowing that the universe always provides on time.

Kathy Ireland: Game Changer for Moms/Women

Kathy Ireland - Game Changer

I was watching CBS This Morning and a guest turbo charged and reinforced my game.

Kathy Ireland, former supermodel, and (now) billionaire spoke with such authenticity and passion it made me get a little warm.

Yes, warm. Warm with a confirmation, warm with power, warm with passion and warm with hope.

It was on the day that I would be hosting my first twitter party for @Gain at the tender age of 45.

My determination to stay relevant in a social media age and raise my children while I reinvent and grow my brand upon resigning from my corporate job has been an interesting ride. Has it been easy? Hell, no! Continue reading

Closing out the game: Are you ready?

Closing out the 4th Quarter

Life is about finishing the 4th quarter and crossing the finishing line no matter what.

I was on the phone today with a colleague and we talked about being 45 and fearless; and, how we finally feel comfortable taking the ‘big unpopular shot’ to finish the play.

Yes – Those are basketball analogies and I’m a proud basketball aficionado.

Wouldn’t you agree that scoring that awesome opportunity (in life) really happens in the final seconds and minutes when presented?

BNM, are you ready to go out there and do what is unexpected and make the uncomfortable decision to w-i-n?

Let’s support one another; it’s time to close out the 4th quarter together!
