Brand Age: Lessons to Learn from Demi Moore
In a society where the images of timeless youth, beauty and weight take center stage daily what’s an aging momma to do?
Demi Moore seemed to have it all – family, fame, fortune and fans, however, it was not enough.
The aging process is not fun. As I prepare to turn 45 years YOUNG in March, I’ve experienced the challenges of getting older.
Let’s just say I am adjusting to a few tweaks; I now wear readers (granny glasses) to read the fine print, battled with sciatica for 4 weeks in December, and, when it rains I can feel a touch of arthritis. Sound sexy yet?
Surely I get caught up from time to time with the basic beauty **IT because I might feel insecure that day or week, but when that happens I take a personal timeout and love up on my self, indulge in family and friends.
I understand Demi’s issue with age and dealing with life scandals in the public eye as a former entertainment publicist. Egos are fragile especially when your life is on constant blast; however, it’s time for Demi to pull it together.
As women we must believe/know that we are enough — regardless of what’s going on externally with life circumstances. Recently at the BET Honors Dr. Maya Angelou said, “Love your truth.”
What I learned from Demi Moore’s tragedy is that I am more than enough and getting older will be okay if I continue to love the person in the mirror looking back at me.
Lessons to Learn from Demi Moore:
1) Define your standard of beauty first. If you truly believe that you are a dime piece hold on tight.
2) Act your age at all times.
3) Parent your children; you had your glory days already.
4) Striving for perfection will never tantamount to happiness.
5) Give gratitude for making it another day
6) Surround yourself with amazing friends and understand that men will come and go.
7) Say no to drugs, however, a glass of wine now and then should be fine.
Let me know how you are dealing with getting better and older.

I-am-enough!
Go Larie!! Yes, we are!
It’s funny how I have never adopted that attitude about getting older as a bad thing. I am really enjoying getting older; first of all I feel that my forties are the best years, I have much more confidence in myself as a person and a women, that I did not have in my twenties or thirties. I no longer care about what others think of me or try too hard to fit in. I am so comfortable with who I AM! Looking forward to my 43rd birthday in April.
Yes, the 40′s are exciting and it does re-affirm that you are more than enough! Stay blessed!
