‘Me’ Time Is Not Always Perfect and that’s OK!
When was the last time you had a moment, was it this past weekend?
A moment is when you feel your thoughts and actions are out of control, you can’t breathe, patience is thin and a timeout is a complete sentence for you.
Many of us are waiting for the perfect ‘me’ time to take charge of our thoughts and lives. Stop, do it right now!
The spa, cocktails with girlfriends, date night with partner, are all fabulous, however, that might not be on the schedule for weeks and you need to restore the calm and cool right now.
Unfortunately, the ‘me’ time is never perfectly wrapped, it might present itself when you are on the toilet and guess what — take it and relish every moment.
Tips for an Imperfect ‘Me’ Time:
1) Start the car. Sit in your car, jam the music and start dancing in your seat
2) Stay in the closet. Find a closet big enough to fit you and turn off the lights like Charlotte did in Sex and The City 2 and calm down
3) Walk. Take the kids for a walk and use that time to visualize the perfect ‘me’ time
4) Laughter for the soul. Go to iTunes and download Paul Mooney’s comedy and laugh your ass off
5) Wash away the craziness. Take a shower, wash off all the angst and sprinkle some lavender essential oil to relax you
6) Make a call. Phone up your bestie to talk you off the ledge – this too shall pass
7) Find your Chakra. Get on the floor, breathe, count to ten and know that this is perfectly natural.
How do you spend your ‘me’ time, please share?
