Connection, Cocktails & Concrete Loop: Blogging While Brown in Los Angeles

Networking with Beautiful Bloggers

It was great to be back on the left coast … it’s been five years since my last visit – P.S. (pre- Sofia) and now I have a ‘brand new ‘ career and presenting at a blogging conference after launching The Brand New Mommy a destination for moms reinventing and renewing one moment at a time.

Hats off to the staff of Blogging While Brown for assembling such an outstanding group. Kudos to Aminah!

My favorite sessions were: Strategic Partnerships: How to Play Nice with Others; Efficiency vs. Effectiveness: Practical Ways for Dealing with Information Overload Online; Book Blogging; How To Avoid Getting It Wrong or Being Sued; Infusing Traditional PR Methods with Social Media (Pam and I did this one).

Angel Laws, author of Angel’s Laws of Blogging and CEO of ConcreteLoop.com was the keynote and she brought the noise … empowered us all with practical information on how to build a successful blog.

Angel's Laws

BNM, get her book, Angel’s Laws of Blogging, it’s already breaking records. Let me say I want to meet Ms. Mamie, her momma to say thank you for Angel.

Fun time with my new buddies

Let me also big up the Black Weblog Awards, (plan on winning one next year) hosted by Kim Coles and Rene Syler with humor and class.

The conference was awesome … great people, informative sessions, fabulous weather and a well-organized event.

Let me say, mark your calendar to attend Blogging While Brown‘ next year if you are serious about your business and brand.
