I hope you had a fantastic weekend and ready to rock-n-roll this week?
Recently, I packed my suitcase and headed to Chicago and Atlanta with the sole intention of getting back on (my) message; meeting (new) people, empowering folks with branding/PR tips; reconnecting with friends and family; learning from the masters (Mr. Earl Graves, founder of Black Enterprise) and sitting still to learn and review the lesson.

Do you ever feel that there are moments when you are simply moving but not accomplishing a darn thing? That’s when it’s time to get out of your comfort zone, set-up meetings, attend a conference, take a workshop, teach a class, and just do it.
That’s what I did.
I met Towanga Evans a Brand New Mommy follower in Atlanta; listened to powerful stories of community activism with Carl West (publisher of Truth B. Told in Chicago); experienced Dr. Renee work her talent in the health profession; enjoyed inspiring conversation with Tanya White, former mover and shaker in the entertainment industry — now attorney; observed Terrie Williams, PR Maven work her magic on Stephen Pierce (motivational/financial speaker); and, shared beautiful Grandma stories over cocktails with my cousins.
In the spirit of face to face — this is exactly what I needed to jolt the journey.
Here’s what I learned from my road trip:
1) Everyone has a story, take the time to listen and learn
2) Reinvention is necessary and real for all
3) Change is constant and when you embrace it happens
4) Having a side-hustle is a must to thrive and stay relevant
5) The struggle is real – never allow it to define you
6) Mentors appear everyday, just look closer

Love this … your energy seems so natural and honest. Thanks for sharing.
